Authors of The Four Disciplines of Execution define the day-to-day work load as the whirlwind. After reading this, I LITERALLY see it. All of the emails, staff meetings, and parent-teacher conferences swirling around me. So how in this massive, everyday whirlwind can a true organizational change be made? The Four Disciplines of Execution, or 4DX, states that there is a plan that anyone can use to make a change in their organization or company.
The influencer model discussed in the previous blog post is very similar to the 4DX model. Vital behaviors are much like WIGs and the aspects of the influencer matrix remind me of disciplines 2, 3, and 4 of the 4DX model. Both models have a personal, social, and structural aspect which is what social scientists say will be needed to make a behavior change.
